Design Coordination and Stakeholder Alignment

  • Coordinate MEP activities across brand technical services, project teams, consultants, contractors, and the Hospitality Division.
  • Ensure MEP designs integrate brand guidelines, operational workflows, safety norms, and sustainability objectives.
  • Lead design reviews with minutes, action trackers, deliverable monitoring, and timely resolution of design gaps.

MEP Design Oversight

  • Review and approve concept, schematic, detailed design, and GFC stages for compliance with technical standards, codes, statutory norms, maintainability, and guest-experience requirements.
  • Coordinate equipment selection, HVAC strategies, BOH layouts, kitchen and laundry systems, fire and life safety, water systems, and sustainability requirements.
  • Evaluate operator-requested changes for technical feasibility, cost, timelines, and integration challenges.

Site Execution and Quality Control

  • Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and integration of MEP systems on site.
  • Verify installation quality and readiness against approved designs, brand standards, and best practices.
  • Resolve RFIs, deviations, and technical issues, and support snagging, de-snagging, system testing, and final commissioning.

Governance and Compliance

  • Ensure MEP works comply with safety protocols, risk-management frameworks, ESG commitments, and quality benchmarks.
  • Guide teams through statutory approvals, inspections, and MEP-related certification processes.
  • Maintain design registers, compliance trackers, approval logs, and commissioning reports.

Budget and Value Engineering

  • Review BOQs, technical specifications, and vendor proposals for accuracy and project alignment.
  • Recommend value-engineering options that reduce cost without compromising performance or brand expectations.
  • Track design-related cost variations and provide budget insights, risk assessments, and technical updates.

Handover and Pre-Opening Support

  • Monitor MEP design progress against project milestones and ensure a seamless transition to hotel pre-opening teams.
  • Support system training, documentation, testing, operational readiness checks, brand certifications, and pre-opening audits.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 8–14 years of experience in MEP design management within hospitality, mixed-use developments, luxury residential, or commercial real estate.
  • Minimum 12 years of hands-on experience in MEP-related roles.

Preferred Qualifications and Background

  • A master’s degree in Building Services or MEP Engineering, or an equivalent advanced qualification, is preferred.
  • Experience with real estate organizations, particularly in hospitality, or exposure to international hotel brands, is preferred.
  • A strong background in hospitality sector projects is required.
