Manager - Product Application Engineer - L1 Technical Support (South Zone)

Position summary

Pre-sales technical support

• Evaluate technical compliance against customer specifications and tender requirements; support product selection and sizing.
• Review inquiries, specifications, BOQs, and application requirements; prepare competitor comparisons and assist with compliant proposals.
• Conduct demonstrations and proof-of-concept presentations and support technical discussions with consultants, OEMs, system integrators, EPCs, and end users.

Training and technical enablement

• Train channel partners, system integrators, sales teams, and application engineers on products and applications.
• Develop training materials, presentations, and application notes; organize hands-on workshops and demonstrations.
• Build regional technical competency and keep channels informed about product launches and feature updates.

Technical support and application development

• Provide first-line support for complex application issues and coordinate resolution of chronic field problems with service teams.
• Troubleshoot VFDs, soft starters, PLC/HMI systems, industrial communication networks, and SCADA systems; analyze root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Escalate unresolved issues to product management and maintain case records, solutions, and learnings.
• Assist with application development, software configuration, commissioning logic, application programming, and proof-of-concept testing and validation.

Qualifications and experience

• BE/B.Tech or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or Industrial Automation.
• 2–6 years of experience in Industrial Automation, Drives, Motion Control, PLC, or related fields.
• Experience supporting OEMs, system integrators, EPCs, or industrial end users is preferred.

Technical skills

• VFDs and soft starters; PLC programming; HMI/SCADA systems; industrial Ethernet and fieldbus communication.
• Motor control applications, industrial networks, application engineering, electrical drawings and schematics, and automation troubleshooting.

Preferred industry knowledge

• Water and wastewater, HVAC, material handling, process industries, food and beverage, metals and mining, cement, or general manufacturing knowledge is preferred.
