About This Role
Position Summary
The Manager of Advertising will be responsible for establishing and scaling TOD’s advertising and monetization business across OTT and digital platforms.
The role will lead the development of TOD’s advertising ecosystem, including monetization strategy, advertising products, programmatic capabilities, vendor partnerships, audience development, and commercial frameworks required to support long-term advertising growth.
Working cross-functionally with Product, Technology, Data & Analytics, Content, Marketing, Ad Sales, and Ad Operations teams, the role will support the development and implementation of advertising capabilities across TOD platforms, including freemium and ad-supported viewing experiences.
The role will be responsible for developing advertising revenues across both direct and indirect channels, improving monetization performance and CPMs, and helping establish Advertising as a scalable product and revenue vertical within TOD.
As part of the build phase of the business, the role will also be responsible for helping define the future operating model for advertising, including evaluating outsourced, hybrid, and in-house structures, while building strong relationships with vendors, agencies, technology partners, and beIN stakeholders to support local and regional advertising opportunities.
The position requires a commercially minded and strategically capable leader with strong cross-functional collaboration skills, resilience, adaptability, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving and evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Lead the development and scaling of TOD’s advertising and monetization business across OTT and digital platforms.
- Support the creation and growth of TOD’s freemium and ad-supported audience strategy, including the development of advertising-supported viewing experiences and monetization opportunities.
- Develop and implement advertising products, inventory strategy, monetization frameworks, and audience targeting capabilities across TOD platforms.
- Drive advertising revenues across direct sales, sponsorships, partnerships, and indirect/programmatic channels, with a focus on improving monetization performance, CPMs, and yield optimization.
- Work closely with Product, Technology, Data & Analytics, Content, Marketing, Ad Sales, and Ad Operations teams to support the implementation of advertising capabilities, reporting frameworks, and monetization initiatives.
- Collaborate with Content and Product teams to identify opportunities for advertising integration across live sports, entertainment, freemium, and promotional experiences.
- Support the development of advertising technology capabilities, including programmatic infrastructure, vendor integrations, targeting solutions, and measurement frameworks.
- Develop strong working relationships with advertising vendors, media agencies, technology partners, and external stakeholders to strengthen TOD’s advertising ecosystem and commercial capabilities.
- Collaborate with beIN stakeholders to identify and support regional and global advertising opportunities across the broader beIN ecosystem.
- Contribute to the development of audience reporting, monetization analytics, and performance tracking structures to support commercial decision-making and advertiser reporting requirements.
- Support the evaluation and implementation of the long-term advertising operating model, including outsourced, hybrid, and in-house approaches.
- Monitor advertising performance, market trends, competitor activity, and emerging advertising technologies to support continuous improvement and innovation.
- Support commercial discussions, partnership proposals, sponsorship opportunities, and advertising agreements in coordination with Sales, Legal, and Finance teams.
- Ensure effective delivery and execution of advertising campaigns, sponsorships, and monetization initiatives across TOD platforms.
- Operate with a high level of adaptability, collaboration, and resilience in a fast-moving and evolving business environment.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Media, Technology, Data, or a related field.
Master’s degree or relevant industry certifications considered an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience across advertising, media monetization, OTT, digital platforms, ad technology, commercial partnerships, or related fields.
- Proven experience in digital media, streaming platforms, advertising-supported products, or broadcast environments.
- Experience working across advertising strategy, monetization, commercial development, or programmatic ecosystems.
- Strong understanding of OTT advertising models, audience monetization, and advertising technologies.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Technology, Data, Commercial, and Marketing teams.
- Experience developing vendor, agency, platform, or strategic partner relationships.
- Experience operating in fast-moving, evolving, or build-phase environments is highly desirable.
