A food processing company in Mississauga is seeking a Maintenance Helper for its facility.
The helper provides general maintenance support and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and Plant Manager.
Maintenance and production duties
- Start, operate, monitor, inspect, and shut down packaging machines and process equipment.
- Perform daily and regular preventive maintenance on plant equipment, machines, and facilities.
- Troubleshoot and repair production machines, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Read equipment manuals and work orders to perform maintenance and service.
- Maintain conveyors and conveyor components; perform simple machinist, plumbing, and carpentry duties.
- Use hand and power tools, electric meters, and material-handling equipment.
- Track electronic records of maintenance and repairs to machines and the facility.
- Assist the Maintenance Supervisor and help with line production when required.
- Maintain plant housekeeping and clean work areas; comply with safety rules and help ensure team adherence to OSHA regulations.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of hand tools and mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Outlook and Excel.
- Food-industry experience is an asset; one year of maintenance experience is preferred.
- Must be able to work with seafood and some meat products.
Employment and pay
- The position is full-time temporary, with the possibility of becoming permanent.
- Pay is $23.50 per hour.
Workplace
- Work is in person in Mississauga, Ontario.
