Role overview

Facilities operations

• Delegate cleaning and maintenance tasks and monitor the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs, and schedule routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors.
• Coordinate workplace security measures with security vendors or security professionals.
• Manage day-to-day facility operations, including completing or delegating maintenance orders.
• Prepare reports on maintenance, repairs, safety, and other occurrences; prepare facilities for changing weather conditions.
• Negotiate service-provider contracts, coordinate renovations and updates, and collaborate with building owners and senior management on budgets.

Required qualifications

• At least three years of experience as a Facilities Manager.
• Advanced mechanical and plumbing skills and knowledge of HVAC and other building systems.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform labor-intensive tasks.
• Excellent time management and multitasking skills, basic accounting and finance knowledge, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Ten or more years of facilities management experience, preferably in retail or shopping malls, is preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire-safety systems is preferred.
• Managing multiple projects, communicating with tenants and vendors, and familiarity with UAE health, safety, and environmental regulations are preferred.
• Facilities management software, MS Office proficiency, and flexibility to respond to emergencies are preferred.
