The Maintenance Engineer oversees hotel building and systems maintenance and repairs while supporting guest experiences.
Maintenance and team leadership
- Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor team members; conduct performance evaluations, support professional development, and recognize achievements.
- Oversee building, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and life safety system maintenance; coordinate inspections and uphold safety and regulatory standards.
- Manage daily maintenance, prioritize tasks, and verify completion through the property maintenance management system.
- Ensure timely resolution of service requests, guest concerns, and emergencies.
Projects and performance
- Assist in directing capital projects and property rehabilitations, including scheduling, budgeting, contractor bidding, and licensing or permitting.
- Develop and oversee property-wide energy conservation programs to reduce utility costs.
- Monitor KPIs for equipment upkeep, audit results, and team productivity, and act to improve performance.
- Work with hotel leadership on evacuation procedures, duty manager coverage, and other safety protocols as needed.
