Team and role

Responsibilities

• Design and build ML, recommendation, and ranking algorithms for large-scale e-commerce systems serving real-time product recommendations to millions of users.
• Develop AI-powered merchant operation systems and agents to improve affiliate strategies, business ROI, and automation.
• Apply LLMs, NLP, and multimodal ML to identify business opportunities and drive growth for merchants and creators.
• Partner with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to take AI solutions from research to production.
• Prototype and productionize emerging AI and ML technologies.
• Build ML agents to automate algorithm development, experimentation, iteration, evaluation, and deployment workflows.

Minimum qualifications

• Applicants must be completing or have recently completed a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, or a related discipline.
• Thorough understanding of data structures and algorithms, with strong problem-solving ability.
• Deep understanding of machine learning, statistics, scaling distributed computing, and big data engineering.
• Candidates must be able to commit to an onboarding date by the end of the year.

Preferred qualifications

• Software engineering experience through an internship, work experience, coding competition, or publication is preferred.
• Internship or research experience, especially in e-commerce, recommendation, or search, is preferred.
• Publications at conferences such as KDD, NeurIPS, WWW, SIGIR, WSDM, CIKM, ICLR, ICML, IJCAI, or AAAI are preferred.
• Curiosity toward new technologies and entrepreneurship, creativity, and quick problem-solving are preferred.

Compensation

• The annual base salary range for the selected city is $121,600 to $243,200.
• Compensation may vary by qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location; additional discretionary incentives and restricted stock units may be available.
