Role overview

Security and loss prevention duties

• Patrol the property, secure rooms, and assist guests with room access.
• Conduct emergency response drills, daily safety inspections, investigations, interviews, and key control audits.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems; authorize, monitor, and document access to secured areas.
• Assist guests and employees during emergencies, contacting emergency medical services or administering first aid and CPR as needed.
• Gather information and prepare reports; maintain confidentiality and release information only to authorized people.
• Defuse disturbances, resolve safety hazards and complaints, escort unwelcome persons, and use appropriate response codes.
• Ensure compliance with alcoholic beverage control laws and provide required paperwork to employees.
• Assist management with employee training, motivation, and coaching; act as a role model and initial contact for fair-treatment concerns.

Preferred qualifications and physical requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred; at least 2 years of related experience and 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Some jurisdictions may require additional licensing or registration.
• The role involves rapid response, extended standing, sitting, or walking, and navigating confined, elevated, uneven, or slippery areas and stairs.
• Able to handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and heavier objects with assistance.

Workplace and conduct
