Job Summary
The Logistics Executive / Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing shipping and logistics operations, ensuring the timely and cost-effective movement of cargo through sea, air, and land transportation.
The role involves handling shipping documentation, coordinating with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs authorities, suppliers, and customers, while ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor import, export, and local shipments from origin to final destination.
- Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, transport providers, and port authorities.
- Arrange vessel bookings, cargo space reservations, and transportation schedules.
- Prepare, verify, and maintain shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BL), Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, and delivery orders.
- Track shipments and provide regular updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate customs clearance activities and ensure compliance with import/export regulations.
- Monitor shipment costs, freight charges, and logistics expenses to ensure cost efficiency.
- Resolve shipment delays, documentation discrepancies, and logistics-related issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory movements, and logistics transactions.
- Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to ensure smooth cargo handling and dispatch.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, international shipping standards, and safety regulations.
- Prepare logistics reports, shipment status reports, and performance analyses.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with shipping agents, carriers, and customers.
& Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Shipping, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in logistics coordination, freight forwarding, shipping, or supply chain operations.
- Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, Incoterms, customs regulations, and international trade documentation.
- Experience in coordinating sea freight, air freight, and land transportation.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel.
- Experience with ERP systems and logistics management software is an advantage.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
