Logistics Coordinator

Position summary

Workplace and schedule

• Based on-site in Ottawa, mainly in an office with regular time in the shipping and receiving area.
• The work involves some physical effort and use of cargo knives, tape dispensers, pallet trucks, and hand carts.
• Focused attention and occasional extra hours may be needed to meet shipping deadlines; some early or late calls with overseas partners and carriers are expected.

Transportation and shipping

• Book domestic and international air, ocean, ground, and courier shipments; choose mode and carrier based on cost, transit time, and service level.
• Provide shipment instructions to carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, 3PLs, and repair providers.
• Track shipments and resolve customs holds, delays, damage, and carrier issues; update internal teams and customers.
• Give Sales, Customer Service, and Professional Services shipment visibility and delivery estimates, and support field requirements.

Customs and trade compliance

• Prepare customs paperwork, including commercial invoices, certificates of origin, HS/tariff classifications, and import/export licenses.
• Run denied-party screening, apply export control classifications including ECCN and ITAR where applicable, and account for country-specific import restrictions.
• Coordinate customs clearance for international returns and repair shipments.
• Manage global duty accounts to minimize duty exposure where possible and manage duty recovery.

Reverse logistics and inventory

• Process customer RMAs and internal and external repair orders, ensuring they are complete, documented, and shipped on time.
• Coordinate shipments to and from subcontracted repair centers, following OEM repair instructions and processes.
• Check inventory levels, make stock transfers between warehouses and distribution hubs, and record inventory receipts and shipments in the March Networks ERP system, SAP.
• Maintain accurate shipment, repair, and inventory transaction records in ERP/TMS systems.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Materials Management, International Trade, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years in logistics, shipping/receiving, customs, or reverse logistics; technology, electronics, or manufacturing experience is ideal.
• At least 2 years of inventory control experience.
• Working knowledge of Incoterms, customs procedures, and export control requirements.
• Experience with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers across North America, EMEA, and/or APAC.
• Comfort with ERP and transportation systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar, and Excel.
• CCS, CITP, or equivalent customs/trade certification is an asset, not required.

Skills and systems

• Customer service focus, organization, and follow-through; able to juggle shipments against tight deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication with internal and external contacts across time zones.
• Familiarity with CBP, ACE Portal, and CARM Portal is noted.

Compensation

• Hiring salary range is $75,000–$85,000.
