Role Overview

Sample Intake and Tracking

• Receive and unload incoming samples in accordance with DOT regulations.
• Verify receipts against chain-of-custody documentation and resolve discrepancies.
• Log samples into LIMS and assign job or sample numbers.
• Distribute paperwork to project managers and label samples for identification.

Sample Routing and Courier Work

• Deliver samples to the appropriate analysis laboratory or walk-in area.
• Forward samples to other laboratories and perform sample pickups and drop-offs as required.
• Perform courier duties while complying with driver policies and applicable regulations.

Laboratory Operations

• Prepare bottle kits for client sample collection and return shipments under EPA and DOT requirements.
• Dispose of spent samples, waste, and potentially hazardous materials according to procedures.
• Monitor freezer and cooler temperatures daily against SOP guidelines.
• Perform sample splits and composites as required.

Work Area and Equipment

• Clean and organize the work area and maintain adequate inventory of supplies.
• Assist with maintenance of walk-in coolers and freezers.
• Maintain company vehicles as needed and ship empty coolers to clients and network laboratories.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Laboratory or sample-handling experience is preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail are preferred.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently and collaboratively, and adapt to changing priorities is preferred.
• Computer proficiency and ability to follow documented procedures are preferred.

Schedule

• Full-time schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with overtime as needed.
• The role includes sample pickup and delivery activity and may require work beyond the regular schedule.

Compensation

• Pay starts at $17.00 per hour.
