Light Gauge Steel (LGS) Structural Engineer – Modular Construction

Role Overview

Location and Industry

• The role is based in the UAE.
• The industry is modular and offsite construction.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in LGS or cold-formed steel structures.
• Proven experience in modular or offsite construction.
• Strong knowledge of AISI, Eurocode, ASCE, and IBC standards.
• Experience with FrameCAD, Vertex, Tekla Structures, and Revit.
• Proficiency in STAAD, ETABS, SAP2000, or STRAP.
• Strong understanding of connection design, bracing systems, load transfer, and tolerances.
• Ability to coordinate with factory, architectural, MEP, QA/QC, and project teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• GCC or UAE modular project experience is preferred.
• Exposure to modular manufacturing and factory QA/QC workflows is preferred.
• Knowledge of transportation and lifting engineering is preferred.
• Professional Engineer or Chartered Engineer certification is preferred.

Role Focus

• Design and analyze light gauge steel and cold-formed steel structures.
• Coordinate prefabricated modular building systems through manufacturing, transportation, lifting, stacking, and installation considerations.
• Support buildability, manufacturability, and modular production requirements.
