We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented
Life Insurance Supervisor
to join our Life Underwriting team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising daily underwriting activities for both Group Life and Individual Life insurance portfolios, ensuring sound risk assessment, compliance with company guidelines, and efficient service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
o Supervise daily underwriting activities for both Group Life and Individual Life insurance portfolios.
o Review and approve underwriting cases within the assigned authority limits.
o Ensure underwriting practices are aligned with company guidelines, regulatory requirements, risk management standards, and approved underwriting policies.
o Evaluate medical, financial, occupational, and lifestyle risk factors to support accurate underwriting decisions.
o Provide technical guidance, coaching, and support to underwriting team members.
o Monitor service levels, quality standards, turnaround times, and overall team performance.
o Review complex or referred cases and escalate matters to the relevant senior management where required.
o Collaborate with sales, claims, actuarial, operations, and other internal stakeholders to support business objectives and ensure smooth workflow.
o Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating underwriting policies, procedures, manuals, and workflow guidelines.
o Support the preparation and delivery of underwriting training programs and knowledge-sharing sessions.
o Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, service quality, and underwriting accuracy.
o Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to underwriting decisions and approvals.
o Carry out any other related tasks as requested by the Department Manager.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in life insurance underwriting, including exposure to both Group Life and Individual Life products.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical, financial, occupational, and lifestyle risk assessment.
- Sound understanding of life insurance underwriting principles, risk selection, policy terms, and pricing considerations.
- Knowledge of UAE insurance regulations and industry practices is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing underwriting information and documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and underwriting systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, and service-driven environment.
- Professional insurance qualifications such as LOMA, ALU, FLMI, or equivalent are an advantage.
