Head Of Sharia Internal Control

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Company's Sharia governance framework in accordance with CBUAE regulations and industry best practices.
• Ensure compliance with Sharia principles across all business operations, products, services, contracts, and processes.
• Maintain and continuously enhance the Sharia Governance Manual and related policies and procedures.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the Internal Sharia Supervision Committee (ISSC) and business functions to ensure effective communication and implementation of Sharia decisions and Fatwas.
• Conduct periodic Sharia reviews and control assessments to identify and mitigate Sharia non-compliance risks.
• Prepare and present Sharia compliance reports, findings, and recommendations to senior management, committees, and regulators.
• Review and assess new products, services, agreements, and documentation from a Sharia compliance perspective.
• Coordinate regulatory inspections and ensure timely submission of all required reports and documentation to the CBUAE.
• Develop and deliver Sharia governance and compliance awareness programs for employees, management, and key stakeholders.
• Provide Sharia advisory support to departments across the organization and ensure alignment with regulatory and governance requirements.
• Identify emerging Sharia compliance risks and integrate mitigation measures into the Company's overall risk management framework.
• Stay abreast of developments in Sharia governance standards, regulatory requirements, and Islamic finance practices.
• **Qualifications & Skills**
• Bachelor's Degree in Islamic Finance, Sharia Law, or a related field.
• Master's Degree or professional certification in Sharia Governance, Islamic Finance, Compliance, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Sharia governance, Sharia compliance, internal control, or Islamic financial services.
• Strong knowledge of Sharia principles and their practical application within the Takaful and financial services industry.
• Sound understanding of the UAE Sharia Governance Framework and CBUAE regulations.
• Experience working with regulatory authorities, Sharia committees, and governance bodies.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment capabilities.
• Proficiency in both Arabic and English is preferred.
