Media City Qatar seeks an experienced Media & Editorial Compliance Lawyer to advise across its media ecosystem.
The role supports practical legal guidance and development of a compliance framework for the media sector.
Responsibilities
- Advise on media law, editorial compliance, content standards, advertising, digital media, privacy, and intellectual property.
- Support regulatory and compliance initiatives and contribute to policy development.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial, content, licensing, technology, sponsorship, and partnership agreements.
- Advise on content production, distribution, rights clearance, and rights management.
- Support engagement with licensees, creators, broadcasters, production companies, digital platforms, and regulators.
- Monitor local and international legal and regulatory developments affecting the media industry.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with 6 to 10 years of post-qualification experience.
- At least 6 years of in-house legal experience in a leading international media, broadcasting, publishing, digital media, streaming, or entertainment organization is mandatory.
- Strong expertise in media law, editorial compliance, content regulation, intellectual property, privacy, advertising, and digital media.
- Proven experience negotiating complex media, content, licensing, technology, and commercial agreements.
- Experience in a fast-paced international media environment and advising senior stakeholders.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
