Role overview
Manage the company's legal matters, contracts, legal advice, regulatory compliance, and protection of its legal and commercial interests.
The role focuses on UAE real estate development, construction law, corporate legal affairs, and regulatory compliance.
Real estate and development
- Provide legal support for real estate development projects in Dubai and Sharjah.
- Draft, review, and negotiate development agreements, joint venture agreements, SPAs, MOUs, and commercial contracts.
- Handle land acquisition, property transactions, and development partnerships.
- Ensure compliance with RERA, DLD, and Sharjah real estate regulations; advise on project and investment risks.
Contracts and legal advisory
- Draft, review, and negotiate construction, consultancy, contractor, and supplier contracts.
- Advise on FIDIC contracts, disputes, variation claims, and project-related legal risks.
- Provide legal opinions to the CEO and senior management and support commercial and procurement contract negotiations.
Corporate compliance and disputes
- Manage corporate documentation, company agreements, regulatory requirements, and monitoring of relevant legislative developments.
- Coordinate with government authorities, external legal consultants, and law firms.
- Manage disputes, claims, litigation, notices, settlements, and resolution processes with external counsel.
- Maintain legal case and contract records and develop strategies to minimize legal exposure.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent; an LLM or additional legal qualifications is an advantage.
- At least 10 years of relevant legal experience in the UAE.
- Previous experience with a UAE real estate developer is mandatory.
- Experience with DLD, RERA, government authorities, real estate agreements, construction contracts, corporate legal matters, litigation, and dispute resolution.
Skills and preferred profile
- Strong knowledge of UAE real estate, construction contract, corporate, and commercial laws.
- Strong legal drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills; able to work independently and advise senior management.
- Excellent English communication skills; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
- Experience as a Legal Manager, Senior Legal Counsel, or Head of Legal with a reputable UAE real estate developer is preferred.
