Transportation Strategy and Governance
- Design and implement a group-wide transportation strategy aligned with business goals.
- Lead national planning, route optimization, and long-term capacity design.
- Establish governance for consistency, transparency, and accountability across transportation operations.
- Provide leadership assurance on spend control, vendor compliance, and performance standards.
- Drive audits, compliance checks, corrective actions, and transport-service standardization.
Technology and Process
- Lead deployment of a centralized Transportation Management System and digitization initiatives.
- Integrate more than 3,000 vehicles into a unified central command center for monitoring, analytics, and decision-making.
- Recommend and approve transport portal features and upgrades.
- Define and periodically update procedures for vehicle sourcing, vendor engagement, billing, and documentation.
Cost and Vendor Management
- Analyze transport spend trends and rate structures with relevant teams.
- Optimize vehicle and transport-resource allocation across business units.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising service or compliance.
- Build a pan-India network of reliable transport partners.
- Oversee vendor performance, service-level compliance, and quarterly partner reviews.
- Manage and optimize the group’s transportation budget of more than ₹400 crore.
Risk, Compliance, and Service
- Ensure adherence to national and state transport regulations and safety mandates.
- Lead risk identification, mitigation frameworks, and business continuity planning.
- Align transport strategy with business-unit heads and senior stakeholders.
- Build and lead a high-performing national transport team.
- Monitor traveller helpdesk queries, resolve escalations, and guide grievance resolution.
- Analyze service performance and traveller satisfaction to drive process improvements.
Qualifications
- 15 or more years of experience in transport operations, fleet management, logistics, mobility services, or corporate administration.
- At least five years in a leadership role managing enterprise-wide travel operations.
