Lead Software Development Engineer

Responsible for participating in development, maintenance, enhancement for application issues and system optimization.

Understand business requirements to provide the technical design of computer software

Possess high level of programming expertise in TPF C, Basic Assembler Language for the zTPF environment to develop and maintain computer software

Develop appropriate software and documentation according to Delta standards

Support and troubleshoot computer systems as required, optimizing performance, resolving problems, and providing timely follow up on all problems

Follow Delta standards and methodologies in the development and implementation of computer software

Works/Consults across multiple projects; functions as an informal leader

Responsible for providing hands-on expert level assistance to junior developers for technical issues.

Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures

Respects differing opinions and collaboration on creating solutions for Delta Airlines

Collaborate with system or application owners to create secure, reliable, scalable software solutions

Writes custom code or scripts to automate infrastructure, monitoring services, test cases, to do “destructive testing” to ensure adequate resiliency in production

Collaborate cross-functionally with business and other IT teams across Delta

Identifies unsecured code areas and implements fixes as they are discovered with or without tooling

Identifies, implements, and shares technical solutions that can be used across the portfolio

Identifies product enhancements to create a better experience for the end users

Research and/or investigate technical issues impacting the organization and recommend solutions

Provide application support for software running in production

Proactively reviews the Performance and Capacity of all aspects of production: code, infrastructure, data, and message processing

Triages high priority issues and outages as they arise

Participates in learning activities around agile software development and development core practices, and mentors other team members in these best practices
