Lead Software Automation Test Engineer (Java, Selenium)- 9+ Years

Role Overview

What You Will Be Doing

• Analyze requirements, participate in grooming and estimation, and define effective test coverage.
• Develop test strategies, create test plans, and execute tests for new features, enhancements, and production support.
• Identify automation opportunities and develop, maintain, and improve automation frameworks and scripts.
• Automate UI, API, batch, mobile, accessibility, regression, functional, and microservices testing.
• Track defects, perform root cause analysis, and recommend quality improvements based on defect trends.

Testing and Automation Skills

• Selenium, Playwright, Katalon, UI automation, API automation, batch automation, mobile automation, and automation framework development are required areas.
• SOAP UI, Postman, REST APIs, SOAP services, accessibility testing, regression testing, and microservices testing are part of the technical environment.
• Scripting may use Python, Ruby, Groovy, Shell, Perl, or similar languages.

Tools and Engineering Practices

• Jira, Maven, Git, Silk Central, BrowserStack, Level Access, WinSCP, and Putty are listed engineering and testing tools.
• SQL is used for moderate to complex data validation and troubleshooting queries.
• Agile/Scrum, SDLC, defect management, CI/CD, Jenkins, and test-driven development are relevant practices.

What You Bring

• Relevant experience in a Quality Engineer, SDET, or test automation role, stated as 3–5+ years.
• Experience with enterprise automation frameworks, web and API testing, mobile testing, accessibility testing, and defect management is expected.
• A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field is required.
• Fluent English, strong communication, attention to detail, organization, and effective independent and team working are expected.

Good to Have

• Experience with AI tools, public cloud, penetration testing, performance testing, unit testing, or banking applications is beneficial.
• CSTE, CSQA, or ISTQB Advanced Level certification is beneficial.
