Lead Product Engineering

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Own planning, development, release, and production support for a product or platform area.
• Lead and coach a product-engineering squad; set expectations for quality, ownership, and delivery.
• Refine requirements into engineering backlogs, estimates, sprint goals, and release plans.
• Guide architecture and implementation across services, APIs, integrations, user workflows, and reusable platform capabilities.
• Partner with Product and Data & AI to productionize usable, secure, observable features.
• Build code review, automated testing, CI/CD, release readiness, observability, and incident response into team execution.
• Manage engineering risks, technical debt, reliability, defects, and performance improvements.
• Resolve cross-team dependencies and promote reusable shared-platform capabilities.
• Track delivery and quality outcomes and surface blockers and trade-offs early.

Required qualifications

• Experience leading software engineers delivering and operating a production product or major platform area.
• Strong technical judgment in architecture, system design, code review, debugging, and production operations.
• Experience with APIs, distributed systems, cloud platforms, integrations, security, and observability.
• Practical experience owning engineering backlogs, sprint execution, releases, and production readiness.
• Ability to balance product scope, quality, speed, reliability, and technical debt.
• Evidence of cross-functional execution, dependency resolution, engineer coaching, and setting technical standards.
• Clear communication with product, engineering, AI, security, and delivery stakeholders.

Preferred experience

• Experience shipping AI-powered products, agent platforms, copilots, workflow systems, or developer platforms is a plus.
• Exposure to RAG, AI evaluation, grounding, safety, model observability, latency, or inference cost management is a plus.
• Experience with sovereign, regulated, hybrid, or on-premises deployments is a plus.
