The Lead Procurement Engineer procures technical goods and services for operations.
The role evaluates suppliers, negotiates purchasing agreements, and ensures timely delivery.
Responsibilities
- Set procurement strategies for cost reduction, quality improvement, and supplier diversification; lead procurement teams.
- Plan procurement with internal stakeholders and select suppliers against quality, cost, delivery, and technical criteria.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing, monitor supplier performance, and resolve supplier issues and disputes.
- Maintain supplier relationships, research markets, identify savings and process improvements, and maintain compliant procurement records.
- Support HSE initiatives, safety awareness, and incident reporting and resolution.
Knowledge and skills
- The posting calls for procurement, sourcing, bidding, and contract negotiation knowledge; engineering expertise; and analytical and cost-analysis ability.
- Negotiation, leadership, and team-management skills are requested.
- ERP knowledge is required; SAP functional skills are preferred.
Experience and education
- Minimum experience is listed as eight years overall and five years relevant; two years of GCC experience is a plus.
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
- A professional qualification in a supply-chain or logistics-related course, or a related technical certificate, is listed.
