Job Purpose
The Lead Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining project schedules to ensure timely execution and delivery of construction projects.
This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, identifying potential risks, and ensuring compliance with planning and scheduling standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules for fit-out projects.
- Monitor project progress and identify schedule variances and potential delays.
- Perform critical path analysis and recommend corrective and recovery actions.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and site teams to ensure adherence to project timelines.
- Prepare baseline programs, look-ahead schedules, and progress tracking reports.
- Provide planning and scheduling support and guidance to project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in resource planning, risk assessment, and development of mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to align project milestones and deliverables.
- Prepare and submit periodic planning reports, dashboards, and project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company planning procedures, contractual requirements, and scheduling standards.
- Support claims preparation related to delays, extensions of time (EOT), and project impacts when required.
- Utilize planning software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project for scheduling and reporting.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Experience
7-10 years of experience in planning and scheduling, preferably in the Fit-out / construction industry.
Strong leadership skills, project management abilities, effective communication abilities.
