Role purpose

Develop and lead reliability improvement initiatives, strategies, and roadmaps for instrumentation and electrical assets across plant operations.

Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to asset performance, plant safety, and business continuity through fault elimination, risk management, life-cycle asset management, and performance monitoring.

Provide technical and administrative leadership to I&E Reliability Engineers and Technicians.

Leadership and asset integrity

  • Act as technical authority and provide high-level guidance and decision support to the team.
  • Supervise and coordinate direct reports in alignment with business plans, objectives, and departmental procedures; identify capability gaps and recommend training.
  • Lead technical efforts to ensure the integrity and long-term reliability of I&E assets.
  • Develop reliability plans using failure analysis, life-cycle data, historical records, and performance metrics; lead plant-wide Reliability Improvement Teams.
  • Apply criticality ranking, bad actor identification, Root Cause Failure Analysis, and Reliability-Centered Maintenance.
  • Lead I&E root-cause analyses, reporting, recommendations, and implementation follow-up.

Reliability delivery

  • Plan, develop, document, and institutionalize Instrumented Protective Systems work processes in compliance with IEC 61511 / ISA-84 and company standards.
  • Diagnose complex electrical and electronic system failures and recommend corrective actions or work-practice improvements.
  • Investigate recurring failures and develop engineering solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Support production and maintenance teams, including development and auditing of maintenance procedures.
  • Promote best practices, emerging technologies, and innovations in reliability and maintenance.
  • Monitor equipment performance and integrity and report against defined KPIs.
  • Provide technical input to projects so reliability and maintainability are considered during design and execution.
  • Establish and enforce Life-Cycle Asset Management guidelines and participate in risk management activities.
  • Act as subject matter expert for Management of Change, technical guidance, and training.

Education and experience

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Required: 7–10 years of experience in a technical I&E role, including 2–3 years in a similar leadership role.
  • Oil and gas industry experience is preferred; petrochemicals industry experience is preferred.

Technical qualifications

  • Expertise in electrical equipment condition monitoring and analysis, FMEA, RCA, reliability engineering, and data analysis.
  • Hands-on experience in preventive maintenance auditing and developing inspection policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of IEC, IEEE, ISA, FCI, IEC 61511 / ISA-84, functional safety standards, process safety, engineering controls, OSHA, NFPA, and ANSI regulations.
  • Functional Safety Engineer (FS Eng) certification is preferred.

Submission deadline

  • Submit a CV on or before 31 January 2026.
