Role overview
The Lead Hand II reports to the Production Supervisor and supports equipment and work-area maintenance, supplies, equipment operation, training, documentation, and in-process IPQC testing.
The role works the night shift Sunday to Thursday, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Compensation
- Starting pay is $32 per hour, plus a $3-per-hour shift premium.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate shift changeovers, ensure machinery and staffing are ready, and report deficiencies.
- Support continuous improvement, perform operator duties as needed, and ensure production supplies are available.
- Correct documentation errors, coach operators, and maintain clean, organized work areas.
- Investigate and resolve quality deviations, troubleshoot equipment alarms, and involve maintenance as needed.
- Help revise SOPs and GMP documents; train employees and address production and training needs with production leaders.
- Enter AX transactions and complete or review batch records and logbooks.
- Coordinate work rotations and communicate priorities with other shifts.
- Follow aseptic practices, cleaning and sanitization procedures, and quality, regulatory, and safety requirements.
Qualifications
- High school completion, a college certificate or diploma, or currently working toward completion.
- At least one year of pharmaceutical manufacturing or related-environment experience.
- Previous leadership experience is an asset; demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills are expected.
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and communicate strongly in writing and verbally.
- Maintain annual gowning certification and understand first-air principles and basic microbiology.
