Lead Facilities Development Engineer role in Dubai, UAE.
Employment type is a one-year contract; single status is specified.
Responsibilities
- Establish the basis for studies; conduct in-house studies, evaluate feasible options, and prepare reports under the Engineering Work Request system.
- Manage external studies by Engineering Service Contractors.
- Ensure engineering assessments produce study reports and deliverables, including process simulations, conceptual P&IDs, and Long Lead Item specifications.
- Coordinate CapEx and OpEx estimates with other teams and compile study documentation.
- Support implementation of facility modifications and serve as Solution Owner for their implementation.
- Make occasional offshore and onshore facility visits for discussions and scope definition.
- Arrange vendor meetings to validate and select technologies.
Education and experience
- Degree-qualified in Chemical Engineering.
- 15+ years of process and chemical engineering experience in the oil and gas industry.
- At least 10 years of experience in facilities development, feasibility studies, and conceptual design.
- Exposure to project design phases from conceptual through detailed design is preferred.
Technical skills and credentials
- Experience with process simulation software such as HYSYS and PIPESIM.
- Ability to use and preferably develop in-house MS Excel models and calculations.
- Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer status preferred.
