Lead EIC Engineer

Role overview

Engineering delivery and coordination

• Coordinate subcontractor communications and report to the Topside Package Lead or Lead Engineer.
• Coordinate engineering work with mechanical, piping, hook-up and other disciplines.
• Review subcontractor scope execution and deliverables for project compliance.
• Plan, detail and review topside documentation focused on EIC and telecommunications systems.
• Check milestones including IFC drawings, technical reviews and engineering readiness and operational review inputs.
• Resolve technical issues and use lessons learned to address client and project expectations.
• Monitor progress and timely submission of site survey reports, Smart 3D models, detailed design documents and material selection reports.
• Attend project review, vendor and other discipline engineering meetings.

Safety and team improvement

• Observe safety objectives and legal requirements and fulfill assigned HSE responsibilities.
• Develop engineering tools, guidelines, templates and training materials; supervise trainees and junior team members.

Experience and education

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and more than 12 years of relevant experience.
• Detailed engineering experience on offshore oil and gas brownfield modifications for Aramco projects.
• Knowledge of Saudi Aramco standards, including SAES and SAEP, MSEARs, design requirements, industry codes and engineering practices.
• Offshore greenfield and brownfield project experience.

Technical experience

• Experience with LV, MV and HV electrical equipment and distribution systems, including equipment sizing calculations.
• Familiarity with power system automation and third-party system integration.
• ETAP studies including load flow, short circuit, relay coordination and harmonic studies; electrical protection; grid and generator synchronization.
• Exposure to Saudi Aramco design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP and safety studies.
• Experience with SPEL, 3D modeling, constructability reviews, electrical MTOs, grounding design, procurement engineering and vendor package management.
