Penspen is hiring a Lead Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical) for an offshore PMC project in Abu Dhabi.
Education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 15 years of experience, with at least 5 years of significant offshore project experience.
- Dedicated commissioning and startup experience is required.
- Experience commissioning offshore platforms, wellhead towers, jackets and topsides, pipelines, and brownfield offshore facilities.
Responsibilities
- Supervise pre-commissioning and commissioning for PSA, RTU, DCS, FGS, ESD, and control and automation systems, including vendor document review, logic checks, and cause-and-effect checks.
- Provide technical advice during prequalification and tender evaluation to ensure contractors and suppliers meet technical requirements.
- Advise on construction, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities, including integrated planning, scheduling, completion, and reporting.
- Coordinate engineering deliverables and activities with procurement and construction teams.
- Plan and supervise commissioning across HVDC systems, converter stations, platforms, piping, pipelines, mechanical systems, auxiliaries, control and protection systems, and associated subsystems.
- Ensure mechanical equipment is safely tested, started up, and handed over according to project requirements.
- Develop mechanical commissioning execution plans, procedures, schedules, and systemization strategies.
- Review mechanical deliverables, vendor manuals, P&IDs, equipment datasheets, and operating philosophies; define system boundaries for completion and commissioning.
Preferred experience
- PMC/EPC background is preferred.
- Previous ADNOC Offshore experience is an advantage.
