Lead Business Analyst

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Lead business process discovery, analysis, and modeling using As-Is and To-Be maps.
• Gather and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements; conduct stakeholder workshops and process improvement sessions.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, architects, developers, and business SMEs to define solution requirements.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications and support solution architecture and system design.
• Conduct impact analysis for business initiatives, regulatory changes, and process improvements.
• Drive change management, stakeholder communication, business readiness, training support, and adoption planning.
• Prepare BRDs, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flow diagrams.
• Support UAT, defect triage, and production readiness.
• Analyze insurance business data and identify operational improvement and process optimization opportunities.
• Ensure alignment with organizational objectives, governance standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Work cross-functionally to deliver business transformation initiatives.

Core skills

• Business Process Modeling, using BPMN, Visio, Signavio, ARIS, Bizagi, or equivalent.
• Business analysis, requirements management, process re-engineering, change management, and solution design.
• Insurance data analysis, stakeholder management, process improvement, and operational excellence.
• BRD, FRD, user stories, use cases, process mapping, gap analysis, and impact assessment.
• UAT planning, business validation, workshop facilitation, and business documentation.

Preferred technical skills

• Jira or Azure DevOps, Confluence, Microsoft Visio, advanced Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and basic to intermediate SQL are preferred.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's or master's degree in business, information technology, insurance, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Specialist, or Lead Business Analyst.
• Strong life and health insurance or reinsurance experience is highly preferred.
• Understanding of underwriting, policy administration, claims, actuarial processes, and the insurance product lifecycle.
• Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills; customer-focused and outcome-driven.
• Ability to work with global business and technology teams across multiple geographies.
• Experience supporting large-scale digital transformation, modernization, or system implementation programs.
• Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
• CBAP, PMI-PBA, BPM, Lean Six Sigma, or Agile certifications are desirable.
