About Bally’s Intralot

Bally’s Intralot was formed through the combination of Intralot and Bally’s International Interactive.

The group operates across digital gaming, lottery, iLottery, and sports betting markets.

Role Overview

The role leads a new AI Engineering function combining research and development with production delivery.

The team will work across personalisation, recommendation, search, agents, and content pipelines.

This is a founding leadership role responsible for technical execution, team growth, and hands-on technical direction.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the AI research and development agenda and decide technical and architectural approaches.
  • Lead and develop engineers across research, development, and delivery.
  • Set standards for production AI systems that are hardened, observable, and maintainable.
  • Move validated prototypes into live systems within latency and reliability constraints.
  • Maintain engineering standards across AWS, TypeScript, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, testing, observability, and LLMOps.
  • Partner with product, data, and engineering stakeholders on roadmap delivery across brands.
  • Work within Responsible Gambling and UKGC requirements.

Requirements

  • Significant commercial software engineering experience and experience leading technical teams or engineering functions.
  • Strong TypeScript and Python expertise with production delivery experience in AI, machine learning, or data-driven solutions.
  • Experience with recommendation engines, intelligent search, ranking systems, or LLM-powered applications.
  • Extensive experience operating cloud-native applications on AWS.
  • Experience with high-performance real-time systems and demanding latency requirements.
  • Experience moving AI solutions from research or proof of concept into production services.
  • Experience setting technical standards and developing engineers.

  • Ability to balance experimentation with engineering discipline and long-term technical value.
  • Confidence leading technical discussions and influencing architecture across stakeholders.
  • Passion for scalable, maintainable, and observable AI systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration across engineering, product, data, and leadership teams.
  • Comfort remaining hands-on while providing strategic technical direction.
