Role overview

Laundry duties

• Operate and monitor washing, dry-cleaning, and drying machines; add chemicals and clean lint traps.
• Identify stained or damaged items and decide whether they need repair, spot treatment, rewashing, or disposal.
• Inspect cleaned articles and place them in clean linen carts; set dryer times and temperatures for each fabric load.
• Clean lint from dryer screens, dry-cleaning filters, and drain traps after each load.
• Fold cleaned items by hand or machine and keep accurate laundry records.

Safety and service duties

• Follow company safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and build positive working relationships.
• Inspect tools and machines for defects and help improve efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, or cost savings.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Physical requirements

• The description specifies standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods or a full shift; navigating confined, uneven, slippery, elevated, or stair-and-ramp areas; and reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• The role requires moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing items weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
