Laboratory Specialist

Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced toxicology tests using laboratory equipment such as GC‑MS and LC‑MS/MS.
• Prepare, handle, and analyze patient samples correctly and safely.
• Develop, validate, and improve testing methods.
• Ensure accuracy and quality of test results.
• Follow quality control programs and international standards.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments.
• Interpret laboratory data and verify results before reporting.
• Train and support junior laboratory staff.
• Maintain complete and accurate laboratory documentation.
• Follow hospital policies, procedures, and safety rules.
• Protect patient confidentiality at all times.
• Participate in research, continuous improvement, and professional development.
• Keep up to date with new laboratory technologies and regulations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in biomedical or basic sciences
• *(Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Toxicology, or related field)*
• Bachelor’s degree in basic sciences (minimum requirement)
• Professional laboratory certification (preferred)

Experience

• Minimum
• 5 years

experience

• in analytical or toxicology laboratories (non‑Qatari)
• Minimum
• 3 years

experience

• in medical laboratories (Qatari nationals)
• Proven experience with GC‑MS and LC‑MS/MS instruments
