As Lab Technician Assistant, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the various tests and procedures required to accurately grade the quality and condition of grain samples for growers, traders and P&H’s various facilities. This position will assist the Quality Control Manager and Lab Technicians with additional duties as assigned.

The Lab Technician Assistant is a full time, contract role. You must be available to work until December 2026, Monday to Friday starting at 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. with occasional overtime or weekend hours.

Preparing various samples for analysis and testing

Reporting/logging detailed results of tests and samples

Performing maintenance checks on equipment and log maintenance activity

Accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to identify and solve quality issues

Willingness to learn

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Flexible work schedule

Effective communicator both written and verbal

Knowledge and basic comprehension of lab terminology is an asset

Knowledge of basic testing procedures and equipment is an asset

Education in agriculture, science and/or food science would be an asset
