Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures on patients of all ages.
• Properly identify patients and verify specimen labeling accuracy.
• Collect, process, and transport specimens according to established laboratory protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and HIPAA regulations.
• Assist in maintaining laboratory supplies and equipment.
• Provide courteous and professional interactions with patients, families, and staff.
• Respond effectively in fast-paced and high-volume environments.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program preferred.
• Current phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Previous phlebotomy experience in a hospital, clinic, or laboratory setting preferred.
• Knowledge of specimen collection, handling, and processing procedures.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
• Frequent use of hands and fingers for specimen collection and laboratory tasks.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to perform duties requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.
