Lab Assistant Per Diem

Follows the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing.

Prepares testing reagents and restocks supplies as required.

Assists in instrument maintenance and documentation.

May be requested to perform Waived Level testing.

Prepares and loads specimens on the analyzers.

Documents all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.

Performs all duties under the direct supervision of the General Supervisor, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Laboratory Technician.

Required: High school Diploma, preferably in college prep curriculum

Preferred: Some post-high school training

Preferred: One year in a clinical laboratory

Basic Microsoft Office, and LIS computer skills.

Basic laboratory skills.

Good customer service skills and telephone etiquette.
