About the role

CMC Markets Middle East Limited seeks an AML/KYC analyst for its Compliance – Financial Crime team in the DIFC.

The role supports the firm's AML, CFT, CPF, and sanctions framework and compliance with DFSA requirements, UAE legislation, and Group policies.

The position handles client onboarding, ongoing monitoring, and financial crime controls for Professional Clients, including corporate entities with complex ownership.

Client due diligence and screening

  • Assess onboarding risk, assign ratings, and determine the required level of due diligence.
  • Conduct due diligence on corporate structures; verify clients, connected persons, beneficial owners, controllers, and authorised signatories.
  • Assess source of funds and wealth; prepare enhanced due diligence files for higher-risk clients and support Professional Client classification evidence.
  • Screen clients and connected parties against sanctions lists, PEP databases, and adverse media; document, discount, or escalate potential matches.
  • Support targeted financial sanctions implementation, including freezing measures and required notifications, under CO/MLRO direction.

Monitoring and suspicious activity

  • Conduct periodic and event-driven KYC reviews and review transaction monitoring alerts and unusual activity.
  • Check deposits and withdrawals for third-party payments, name mismatches, and funding patterns inconsistent with client profiles.
  • Track expired documents and outstanding KYC items and follow them to resolution.
  • Escalate potential suspicious activity; assist with information gathering and UAE FIU goAML reports; maintain reporting registers and observe confidentiality and tipping-off requirements.

Records, governance, and training

  • Maintain accurate, complete, auditable CDD records and prepare AML management information.
  • Assist with the annual MLRO report, annual DFSA AML Return, business risk assessment, supervisory requests, audits, and external AML reviews.
  • Maintain AML/KYC procedures, checklists, and templates; monitor regulatory updates and support staff AML/CFT and sanctions training.
  • Approve lower-risk accounts within delegated authority after demonstrating competence.

Experience and qualifications

  • Approximately 1–3 years of KYC, onboarding, or AML experience at a firm regulated by the DFSA, FSRA, SCA, or FCA.
  • Working knowledge of relevant AML/CFT and sanctions requirements and practical experience in corporate due diligence, beneficial ownership analysis, and source of funds and wealth assessment.
  • Requires attention to detail, clear written communication, caseload management, professional integrity, and discretion.
  • Desirable: DFSA AML Module experience; complex-structure experience; screening-tool familiarity; financial services experience; an AML qualification; a relevant degree; Arabic; DIFC experience; or existing UAE residency.
