Kitchen Steward / Cleaner

Role overview

Kitchen stewarding and cleaning

• Wash, clean, sanitize, and store utensils, cookware, cutlery, dishes, and equipment.
• Clean workstations, countertops, sinks, floors, and food preparation areas.
• Deep-clean equipment, refrigerators, storage areas, and other designated spaces.
• Dispose of and segregate waste according to hygiene standards.
• Keep dishwashing and cleaning stations clean and organized.

Café and operational support

• Clean café glass surfaces, doors, shelves, and other fixtures.
• Store and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Assist with basic non-cooking kitchen tasks as needed.
• Support receiving, organizing, and storing supplies and deliveries; keep cleaning and hygiene supplies stocked.
• Report maintenance issues, equipment damage, or hygiene concerns to management.
• Work with kitchen and service teams to maintain an efficient, organized environment.

Requirements and qualifications

• Experience as a kitchen steward, kitchen helper, cleaner, or similar role in a café, restaurant, hotel, or commercial kitchen is preferred.
• Basic understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.
• Familiarity with kitchen cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals.
• Physical fitness for cleaning duties throughout the shift and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Teamwork, time management, communication, and basic English skills.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Hardworking, punctual, dependable, attentive to detail, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Previous UAE hospitality experience is an advantage; two years of UAE experience and one year of cleaner experience are preferred.
• Candidates available to join immediately will be given preference.

Pay

• Pay is AED 1,000 to AED 1,500 per month.

Work location

• Work location is in person at STAY Bakery & Café in Dubai.
