K-9 Trainer

Overview

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, conduct, and document all Military Working Dog (MWD) training and ensure MWD team proficiency training is current and maintained.
• Assist the kennel master with all operations, including supervising the care and feeding of dogs, ensuring kennel and kennel facility maintenance, and managing transport of MWD.
• Coordinate training and duty schedules for all MWD and maintain administrative, accountability, and medical records.
• Obtain all training support requirements.
• Maintain storage, inventory, and accountability of all training aids.
• Act as primary or alternate equipment custodian for all accountable assets.
• Provide subject matter expertise to the 9th Air Force Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron to help ensure base security and critical support services.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience providing MWD team training.
• Must be a graduate of the Department of Defense Kennel Masters course.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office.
• Must hold a valid state driver's license and be able to obtain a Government issued Driver's License.
• Secret security clearance.
• Must successfully pass all medical screening as required per CENTCOM deployment standards.

Desired Qualifications

• Training and experience in U.S. Air Force Equipment Custodian process is desired.
