Overview
The Group Strategy & Portfolio Management function is seeking a high-calibre Junior Strategy Consultant to support the development of enterprise strategy, value creation plans, long-term business plans, portfolio reviews, and strategic transformation initiatives across the Group and its subsidiaries.
The role will have a strong focus on strategy development, value creation planning, business planning, strategic analysis, benchmarking, and performance improvement.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and strategy teams to support the development of 5-year strategies, value creation plans (VCPs), long-term investment plans, business cases, and Board-level strategic materials.
Strategy & Value Creation Planning
- Support the development of enterprise and subsidiary-level 5-year strategies, value creation plans, and long-term business plans.
- Support the development of value creation plans by identifying key value drivers, defining strategic initiatives and “big bets,” and linking them to measurable targets, KPIs, business outcomes, and benefits realization frameworks.
- Assist in identifying, assessing, and prioritizing strategic growth opportunities, operational improvement initiatives, transformation programs, and strategic investments.
- Support the development of strategic choices, growth pillars, value drivers, and future-state operating models across the portfolio.
- Assist in translating strategic objectives into actionable initiatives, including the development of implementation roadmaps, initiative charters, targets, milestones, and performance measures.
Strategic Analysis & Benchmarking
- Conduct market assessments, competitive benchmarking, industry analysis, strategic fact-base development, and opportunity sizing exercises.
- Perform internal and external benchmarking across leading regional and global organizations to identify performance improvement opportunities, best practices, and strategic insights.
- Analyze market trends, customer segments, competitive positioning, business models, industry dynamics, and emerging growth opportunities.
- Support the development of fact-based recommendations through qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Business Planning & Performance Management
- Support the development of 5-year business plans, annual strategic plans, budgets, and long-term forecasts.
- Assist in developing initiative-level business cases, including strategic rationale, implementation requirements, expected benefits, key dependencies, and performance targets.
- Support scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and strategic option assessments.
- Assist in developing KPI frameworks, value-driver trees, benefits realization frameworks, and performance management mechanisms.
- Support the translation of strategic priorities into measurable business outcomes and performance targets.
Executive Reporting & Strategic Communications
- Develop executive-level presentations, Board materials, shareholder updates, strategy reports, and business cases.
- Synthesize large volumes of qualitative and quantitative information into concise strategic narratives and actionable recommendations.
- Support the preparation of CEO-, Board-, ExCom-, shareholder- and other relevant material for the VCP/Strategy.
- Translate complex analyses into clear strategic insights and decision-support materials.
Portfolio Strategy & Transformation Support
- Support strategic reviews of portfolio companies, business units, operating models, and transformation initiatives.
- Assist in tracking execution of strategic initiatives, value creation programs, and transformation roadmaps.
- Support strategic assessments, portfolio reviews, investment evaluations, and business improvement initiatives as required.
- Contribute to special projects across strategy, transformation, corporate performance, portfolio management, and organizational effectiveness.
