Job Summary
Provide Tier 1/2 network support and assist with day-to-day network operations under senior-engineer guidance.
The environment includes Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco Meraki switching and wireless, Aruba EdgeConnect / Silver Peak SD-WAN, and IT/OT network segmentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor network devices, performance, and availability.
- Perform routine network administration, maintenance, patching, and firmware upgrades.
- Assist with Palo Alto, Meraki, and Aruba EdgeConnect SD-WAN management.
- Support basic VLAN, switch port, DHCP, Wi-Fi, routing, firewall, and VPN changes.
- Troubleshoot LAN, Wi-Fi, connectivity, and network access issues.
- Monitor alerts, provide Tier 1/2 incident support, and escalate complex issues.
- Maintain configuration backups, network inventory, and technical documentation.
- Assist with network segmentation and IT/OT network operations.
- Document incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
Required Technical Skills
- Basic to intermediate TCP/IP networking knowledge.
- Understanding of VLANs, switching, routing, DHCP, DNS, and Wi-Fi.
- Basic knowledge of firewall concepts and VPNs.
- Experience with network device patching and firmware upgrades.
- Basic LAN, WAN, wireless, and connectivity troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
- Palo Alto, Cisco Meraki, and Aruba EdgeConnect familiarity is preferred.
Preferred Certifications
- CCNA or equivalent networking certification is preferred.
- Palo Alto Networks, Cisco/Meraki, and Aruba networking certifications are pluses.
Key Competencies
- Good troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to follow technical procedures and change-management processes.
- Ability to work with senior engineers and other IT teams.
