Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Marine Engineering.
  • Minimum Experience:
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in naval architecture, marine engineering, heavy lift/project cargo, marine transportation.
  • Job-Specific Skills:
  • Sound understanding of basic naval architecture principles, including hydrostatics, intact stability, trim, ballast operations, vessel motions, and longitudinal strength.
  • Basic understanding of ship structures, deck loading, load distribution, sea fastening, and marine transportation engineering.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with AutoHydro and Optimoor is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Rhino, MOSES, ANSYS, or similar naval architecture/engineering software is an advantage.
  • Awareness of applicable Classification Society rules, IMO requirements, and marine/heavy transport industry standards is an advantage.
  • Ability to read and interpret vessel drawings, General Arrangement plans, structural drawings, stability information, cargo drawings, and jetty/berth information.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail and engineering accuracy.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear technical calculations, reports, drawings, and correspondence.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and to support vessel/site activities when required.
  • Proactive approach to learning, with the ability to work under supervision, manage assigned priorities, and meet project deadlines.
  • Tangible, measurable results must be obtained despite opposition or resistance to their accomplishment. There is pressure to meet deadlines in an environment laced with a wide variety of problems and unexpected interruptions.

Preferred Qualifications
