Role purpose
Turn business questions into clear data requirements, reliable reporting, and actionable insights for Aldar Estates Digital & Technology.
Work with stakeholders, analysts, and technical colleagues to improve data quality, document reporting needs, and support digital and data improvements across estate operations and customer services.
Develop hands-on business-analysis and foundational data skills; advanced machine learning, enterprise data architecture, complex BI engineering, advanced Spark, and Databricks administration are not required.
Key responsibilities
- Gather and clarify reporting requirements; document user stories, process flows, KPI definitions, and acceptance criteria.
- Prepare approved-source data with Excel and basic SQL; query and validate data in Databricks notebooks under guidance.
- Clean, reconcile, and validate datasets; investigate missing or inconsistent records and escalate issues to data owners.
- Support recurring KPI reporting and maintain simple Power BI and Tableau dashboards under guidance.
- Check calculations and refresh outputs; explain trends, assumptions, and limitations in business-friendly language.
- Analyse service performance, customer experience, and process efficiency; distinguish evidence from assumptions and recommend proportionate next steps.
- Document data sources, transformations, business rules, decisions, and reporting changes.
- Support UAT with test cases, defect records, retesting, and stakeholder feedback.
- Coordinate actions and dependencies with business users and Digital & Technology colleagues.
- Protect confidential information, follow access and sharing controls, and flag data-quality, privacy, or governance concerns.
Essential qualifications and skills
- Relevant degree in business, information systems, data analytics, computer science, statistics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical training and demonstrable analytical experience.
- 0–2 years of relevant business-analysis, reporting, operations, or data-analysis experience, including internships, placements, or substantial academic projects.
- Practical Excel skills including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and data-quality checks; basic SQL for selecting, filtering, joining, and aggregating data.
- Familiarity with Power BI reports and visualisations and foundational Tableau knowledge for simple reports and dashboards.
- Understand requirements gathering, KPI definitions, data cleaning, and validation.
- Clear written and verbal communication, organised documentation, attention to detail, and collaboration with non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable skills
- Exposure to Power Query, introductory DAX, simple data models, or reporting automation.
- Foundational Databricks knowledge, including notebooks, basic SQL querying, data validation, and lakehouse concepts.
- Familiarity with UAT, process mapping, Agile delivery, or work-management tools.
- Interest in real estate, property or facilities management, customer services, or other service-led operations.
- Relevant coursework, a small analytics portfolio, or foundational data or business-analysis certification.
Core competencies and success measures
Bring analytical curiosity, structured problem-solving, accuracy, and sound judgement; communicate clearly, own agreed tasks, and learn from feedback.
Show a service mindset, respect confidentiality, and ask questions or escalate uncertainty rather than present unchecked information as fact.
Deliver useful reporting to agreed schedules, reconciled with approved sources, and make assumptions and limitations visible.
Identify and follow through on data-quality issues; complete UAT evidence and documentation; communicate actions promptly.
Demonstrate growing independence while following approved access and governance controls.
