Role description

Part-time, hybrid IT Support Officer role based in Abu Dhabi Emirate, with flexibility for some work-from-home tasks.

Provides technical support to chapter members and organizers.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve desktop, printer, and basic networking issues.
  • Maintain devices used during events and assist with software installation and updates.
  • Keep IT resources functioning for meetings, workshops, and campus activities.
  • Document support requests and coordinate with vendors or institutional IT when needed.
  • Contribute to improvements in IT processes and guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and working knowledge of operating systems, basic networking, and security best practices.
  • Hands-on desktop experience covering hardware setup, software installation, and performance optimization.
  • Printer support skills, including configuration, drivers, maintenance, and connectivity or print-quality troubleshooting.
  • Effective communication, customer service, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Student organization, technical society, or IT helpdesk experience is an advantage.
  • Relevant coursework or certification in IT, computer science, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
