IT Analyst (Data) supports New Era's data and analytics capabilities, turning raw data into trusted, actionable insight.
Works primarily in the Snowflake data platform, building dashboards and reports in Power BI with Tableau as needed.
Partners with Data & Analytics and Enterprise Architecture to ensure data is accurate, well-modeled, and consistently defined.
Workplace
- Based at New Era Cap headquarters in downtown Buffalo, New York.
- Role is 100% on-site, five days a week, to support in-person collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Build Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations; provide Tableau support where needed.
- Query Snowflake with SQL; extract, transform, and validate data for reporting and analysis.
- Gather stakeholder requirements and create data models, semantic layers, visualizations, and DAX measures.
- Monitor data quality, integrity, and pipeline health; help resolve discrepancies and document pipelines with data engineering.
- Maintain data dictionaries, report documentation, and metric definitions; support ad hoc analysis for leadership.
- Collaborate on Snowflake performance and cost optimization; migrate legacy reports and recommend improvements, including AI-assisted analytics.
- Keep sensitive matters confidential.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Deep hands-on Power BI expertise, including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and report/dashboard design.
- Working knowledge of Snowflake or a comparable cloud data warehouse, including SQL and performance considerations.
- Familiarity with Tableau for data visualization and reporting.
- Understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and star/snowflake schema design.
- Able to gather requirements from business stakeholders, explain data findings, and build trusted relationships.

Compensation
- Salary range: USD 85,000–105,000 per year.
