Islamic Finance Accountant

About This Role

Laconic Ayurveda is seeking a detail-oriented and ethically driven Islamic Finance Accountant to join our finance team in Doha. This role is responsible for ensuring that all financial activities are conducted in compliance with Islamic Sharia principles while maintaining accuracy, transparency, and strong financial control. The ideal candidate combines solid accounting expertise with a strong understanding of Islamic finance structures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review financial records in accordance with Islamic accounting principles and standards
• Ensure compliance with Sharia guidelines in all financial transactions and reporting
• Record and monitor Islamic finance products such as Murabaha, Ijarah, and Musharakah
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes with accurate financial reporting
• Reconcile accounts and ensure proper documentation of all transactions
• Collaborate with auditors to ensure compliance with Islamic financial governance
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis aligned with Sharia principles
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure transparency in reporting
• Identify and support improvements in Islamic finance accounting processes

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proven experience in accounting, preferably with exposure to Islamic finance
• Strong understanding of Islamic finance principles and Sharia-compliant accounting practices
• Knowledge of IFRS with adaptation to Islamic financial reporting standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• High level of integrity and ethical awareness

Preferred Skills:

• Certification in Islamic Finance (e.g., CIPA, AAOIFI-related training) is an advantage
• Experience in healthcare, wellness, or service-based industries
• Familiarity with Islamic banking products and structures
• Ability to work in a structured and compliance-focused environment
