Responsibilities
- Audit plants and document current processes, instrumentation, KPIs, and data flows; identify digitization opportunities.
- Recommend sensors, data acquisition methods, KPIs, and IIoT use cases.
- Verify process diagrams, prepare specifications, and develop automation solutions across projects.
- Assess system integrators and ODMs; coordinate solution delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Design, deploy, monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot IoT and automation systems and integrations.
- Develop automation applications and scripts; collaborate across Engineering, IT, and Operations.
- Ensure compliance, document architectures and configurations, and mentor junior specialists.
Required qualifications and skills
- 10+ years of experience.
- Robotics, assembly-line, and manufacturing process automation experience, including design, simulation, architecture, and commissioning.
- Experience with industrial devices, robots/cobots, OT-IT integration, robot programming and deployment, and industrial communication protocols.
- IIoT architecture and platform experience; industrial IoT use cases and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
- Experience with MQTT/AMQP/CoAP, IoT architecture, device integration, Python, JavaScript, C/C++, and industrial control systems.
- Knowledge of edge computing, real-time data processing, IoT analytics, and IoT security.
Good-to-have qualifications
- Advanced batch process engineering knowledge, including ISA S88 and ISA 95, and batch engineering, testing, and commissioning experience.
- Advanced DCS, PLC, SCADA, or instrumentation training or certifications.
- Vision systems experience for quality inspection and verification.
- Experience with Plant Automation Accelerator or OSI PI Historian.
