Job Objective
The role will support origination, execution and client coverage activities across investment banking products, including mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt capital markets, and structured financings.
The successful candidate will analyse corporate financials, develop valuation and transaction models, prepare client-facing materials, coordinate due diligence, and work closely with senior bankers and product specialists to deliver strategic advice and execution for corporate and institutional clients.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Support origination and execution of M&A, ECM and DCM transactions by conducting financial analysis, valuation (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions) and modelling to assess deal structures and returns.
- Prepare clear, professional pitch books, information memoranda, management presentations, client proposals and transaction materials that articulate strategic rationale and financial impact.
- Perform detailed due diligence on target companies and sectors, co‑ordinating with legal, tax, compliance and external advisers to identify commercial and financial risks.
- Build and maintain robust financial models to support pricing, sensitivity analyses, accretion/dilution and capital structure optimisation under various scenarios.
- Assist with syndication and marketing activities for capital markets transactions, liaising with sales, syndicate desks and institutional investors to facilitate successful distribution.
- Conduct industry and market research, prepare sector briefs and monitor market trends, regulatory developments and comparable transactions to inform client advice and deal positioning.
- Coordinate internal project plans, ensure timely delivery of workstreams, manage data rooms and maintain accurate transaction records and documentation.
- Draft and review term sheets, indicative offers and transaction documentation in collaboration with legal and product teams, ensuring consistency with commercial and regulatory requirements.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior bankers and clients; respond to follow-up queries and support negotiation strategies during live transactions.
- Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities, supporting pitch preparation and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Maintain high standards of confidentiality, compliance and risk management throughout deal execution and client interactions.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior analysts, support training initiatives and participate in ad-hoc projects to improve processes and templates.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business or a related discipline; a master’s degree or professional qualifications (e.g., CFA, ACA) is advantageous.
- 2–5 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, capital markets or a related advisory role; experience on live transactions across M&A and/or ECM/DCM is preferred.
- Strong financial modelling and valuation skills with proven ability to build detailed, audit‑ready models and perform rigorous analysis under tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to produce client-ready materials; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with data room platforms, Bloomberg, Capital IQ or similar market data tools is desirable.
- High attention to detail, sound commercial judgement and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with experience working effectively across deal teams and with external advisers and clients.
- Understanding of capital markets mechanics, securities law considerations and regulatory requirements relevant to transactions.
- Ability to travel as required and work extended hours to meet transaction deadlines.
- Commitment to ethical conduct, confidentiality and compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
