Role overview

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store according to schedule and company procedures.
• Conduct operational and inventory control audits and follow up on compliance.
• Assist operations and sales teams with inventory counts, shortage programs, and unsaleable articles.
• Perform floor walks and inspections to support business continuity and integrity.
• Monitor CCTV, observe activity, and dispatch as needed.
• Conduct internal and external investigations; apprehend shoplifters while preserving evidence and documenting findings.
• Testify at criminal proceedings when appropriate.
• Respond to emergencies, provide first aid or security assistance, and prepare detailed reports.
• Follow health and safety requirements and promote safety with store teams and new hires.
• Contribute to controlling losses from theft, fraud, and accidents; perform other assigned duties.

Candidate requirements

• At least one year of experience in a fast-paced loss prevention and/or safety and security role, plus working knowledge of retail.
• A valid provincial security licence must be held and maintained.
• Valid standard first aid, CPR, and AED certificates must be held and maintained.
• Provide an approachable, customer-focused experience as a luxury retail partner.
• Previous investigative and interview training is an asset.
• Problem-solving and de-escalation skills are an asset.
• Maintain clear field notes and daily communication logs, and write thorough, precise investigation reports.

Compensation

• Hiring range is $15.00–$30.50 per hour; final compensation depends on qualifications, skills, expertise, assessed contributions, and local market conditions.
