Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for SOC 1 and SOC 2 examinations, coordinating evidence requests, walkthroughs, and testing.
  • Perform control testing across SOC 1 and SOC 2 in-scope processes and escalate gaps or delays before examination deadlines.
  • Review evidence for completeness and audit readiness before it is provided to auditors.
  • Maintain control matrices and narratives as processes, systems, or ownership change.
  • Support scoping conversations for new SOC engagements involving products, systems, or subservice organizations.
  • Perform SOX audit procedures including planning, fieldwork, testing, and reporting for assigned audits.
  • Translate audit findings into business risk statements and recommend practical, proportionate remediation.
  • Track management action items and remediation progress through closure.
  • Execute SOX key-control testing and document procedures, results, and conclusions.
  • Support the SOX control framework and identify design or documentation gaps.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 4–6 years of experience in audit, controls, risk, or compliance.
  • Ability to own a workstream end-to-end with minimal supervision and coordinate stakeholders against a timeline.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining control requirements to non-audit stakeholders.
  • Strong documentation habits, including clear workpapers, evidence trails, and status tracking.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to SaaS or cloud environments.
  • Prior SOC 1, SOC 2, SOX, or controls testing experience.
  • Familiarity with a controls management platform such as AuditBoard.
  • Progress toward or completion of CPA, CA, or CIA certification.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365 skills.
