Audit responsibilities
- Plan and conduct financial, operational, compliance, IT, and process audits, investigations, and ad hoc assignments.
- Develop risk-based audit programs, assess controls, and conduct interviews, walkthroughs, testing, and data analysis.
- Identify control weaknesses, compliance gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities; report findings and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain evidence-based working papers, follow up findings, and validate closure evidence.
- Support the annual audit plan and prepare reports for Management and the Audit Committee.
- Mentor Auditors and Junior Auditors and deliver engagements within agreed timelines and budgets.
- Travel internationally for assignments, potentially up to 60% of working time.
Required qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field.
- CIA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification is required.
- At least 7 years of relevant internal auditing experience.
- Proven process auditing and business process improvement experience; experience with financial, operational, compliance, and IT audits.
- Knowledge of internal auditing standards, risk management frameworks, internal controls, risk-based planning, control testing, audit documentation, and findings follow-up.
- Professional exposure to laboratory, research, breeding, or life sciences environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, report-writing, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills; able to work independently and meet deadlines and budgets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, audit management tools, and data-analysis software.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and French; willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 60%.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience across laboratory, research, breeding, and life sciences operations is preferred.
- International or multicultural organization audit experience, process-improvement methods, advanced data-analysis techniques, and experience mentoring junior auditors are preferred.
- Knowledge of Arabic or Russian is an advantage.
