Internal Audit Manager (UAEN)

Role overview

Audit delivery and reporting

• Contributes to the audit strategy, annual plan, and multi-year audit universe.
• Leads financial, operational, and compliance audit and advisory engagements, including planning, documentation, fieldwork, and testing.
• Prepares risk-focused reports with observations, root causes, impacts, recommendations, and agreed management action plans.
• Monitors agreed actions, validates finding closure, and maintains complete and accurate audit documentation.

Quality and special assignments

• Supports QAIP in accordance with GIAS and coordinates internal quality assessments, stakeholder feedback, and external assessment readiness.
• Improves audit methodologies, tools, processes, and stakeholder value.
• Supports special assignments and, when required, due diligence, acquisition, integration, and post-implementation reviews.

Stakeholders and team management

• Builds professional relationships with senior leaders, department heads, staff, shareholders, group companies, and external auditors.
• Leads closing meetings to discuss findings, risks, and agreed action plans; supports reporting to management, the Audit Committee, Board, and regulators.
• Supervises and develops audit staff through training, coaching, feedback, and assignment evaluation.

Education, certification, and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• CIA certification is essential; a master’s degree is preferred, and CISA or CFE certifications are desirable.
• Requires 8–10 years in Internal Audit, External Audit, Risk Management, or Assurance, including audit engagement leadership.
• Requires experience in risk-based auditing and advisory engagements.

Knowledge and preferred experience

• Requires strong knowledge of GIAS, corporate governance, and ICOFR frameworks, plus understanding of technology, data analytics, and emerging risks.
• QAIP, audit methodology development, and continuous improvement experience are desirable.
• Experience in aviation, aerospace, defence, government-related entities, or other regulated industries is preferred.
• Requires strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
